Watchman, tell us of the night

 

양 지키는 목자여

 

1. 양 지키는 목자여 지난밤을 말하라
멀리서 온 박사들 영광의 별 말하라
그 별빛은 이 땅에 아름다운 새 소망
오늘 나신 예수를 온 천하에 전하라

2. 목자들은 하늘의 빛난 별을 말하고
박사들은 땅 위의 평화 진리 말하라
목자들은 예수의 복된 탄생 말하고
박사들은 세상에 그 소식을 전하라

3. 목자들은 전하라 밝아오는 새 아침
박사들은 전하라 물러가는 어둠을
순례하는 자들아 어서 집에 돌아가
하나님의 독생자 평화의 왕 전하라

 

Watchman, tell us of the night

 

1.Watch-man, tell us of the night,
What its signs of prom-ise are.
Trav-eler, o'er you moun-tain's height,
See that glo-ry beam-ing star.
Watch-man, does its beau-teous ray
Aught of joy or hope fore-tell?
Trav-eler, yes; it brings the day,
Prom-ised day of Is-ra-el.

2.Watch-man, tell us of the night;
High-er yet that star as-cends.
Trav-eler, bless-ed-ness and light,
Peace and truth its course por-tends.
Watch-man, will its beams a-lone
Gild the spot that gave them birth?
Trav-eler, a-ges are its own;
See, it bursts o'er all the earth.

3.Watch-man, tell us of the night,
For the morn-ing seems to dawn.
Trav-eler, dark-ness take their flight;
Doubt and ter-ror are with-drawn.
Watch-man, let your wan-derings cease;
Has-ten to your qui-et home.
Trav-eler, lo, the Prince of Peace.
Lo, the Son of God is come!
